In addition to possessing some of the most impressive research and writing skills anywhere, Dr. Mark Dekutoski has been a reviewer and collaborator for many surgery-related medical journals. He has also been an editor for several publications, including a supplement for Spine, which ranks among the most prestigious orthopedic journals in the entire medical world. Dr. Mark Dekutoski also spent time as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Spine Disorders and he has served on the editorial board for the Journal of Current Surgery. All of this experience has allowed him to improve his decision-making processes and even to help shape the entire field of orthopedic spinal surgery.
Of course, he couldn’t be as good as is without a great education. After going to Wayne State University School of Medicine, where he officially became Dr. Mark Dekutoski, MD back in 1986, he went on to complete an internship in general surgery in 1987 and a residency in orthopedic surgery in 1991, also from Wayne State. He followed that up with a stint as a John H. Moe Clinical Spine Fellow at the Twin Cities Scoliosis Spine Center at the University of Minnesota in 1993
